During his imprisonment, he was able to write, including a text entitled Doctrine of Hatred, in which he analyzed the different types of collective hate. This work was confiscated from him in the camp and destroyed. In his masterly account of the Gulag, translated into English under the title Journey into the Land of the Zeks and Back: a Memoir of the Gulag, Margolin summarizes this lost book in the form of a chapter. This article is an attempt to situate his work in the context of the humanist thought of its time.</dc:description><dc:description xml:lang="fr">Julius Margolin, philosophe, écrivain et critique littéraire Juif (1900-1971) a passé cinq ans dans les camps du Goulag (1941-1945).
